Hmm, my understanding was that weed can lead to meth at times (never actually done any of this stuff, I just listen to Dr. Drew on Nightline a lot.)

And there's also a cultural thing, meth tends to be a rural white drug, coke is much less so, though of course there are exceptions.

Meth is easy to get, when the supply of coke is down, meth is a quick, easy substitute. Potheads are potheads, meth is an upper, pot isn't. Meth labs can be set up quickly and they can get the stuff on the streets quick. Quality may be bay, but tweekers don't care.
