Actually, Pilate says this. Jesus knows and says the truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life...."
Pilate is shown a number of times in the movie asking about truth. He sees it as relative (a liberal, that Pilate).
Cheers, deborah
I forgot this part: ..."The truth to one group of people might be different to another...I watched "Schindlers List" and was moved I watched this movie now twice and was moved...what's the truth?"
I used to think that each person had their own truth. I think I was mistaking experience informing one's conclusions as the truth (or 'my' truth). I then realized that my experiences altered (either for the good or the bad) how I viewed truth----sometimes making it seem clearer, sometimes more difficult to see. I found that it takes constant vigilance (and sometimes I'm TOO TIRED!) to try and keep focused on an objective truth (even if I don't always understand, or it is painful, or it comes from people with whom I usually don't agree). But, that's just my...er...experience.
