TEHERAN, February 28 (Itar-Tass) - Official Radio Teheran said Saturday the notorious Osama bin Laden, the leader of the Al Qaeda terrorist network had been arrested on the Afghan-Pakistani border.
The radio said the information had been leaked by well-connected sources.
The arrest allegedly took place in the so-called zone of free tribes some time ago and the Thursday trips to Afghanistan and Iran by the U.S. Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld might have been linked to bin Laden’s seizure, said Radio Teheran’s foreign service broadcasting in the Pushto language.
In the meantime, official quarters have neither denied nor confirmed the reported arrest so far.
