If memory serves, the first thing the Leftists did was claim that the U.S. didn't capture Saddam; that the Kurds had caught Saddam and held him until the U.S. got custody of him.

Nevermind that if the Kurds had got their mitts on Saddam first, we'd have needed a bucket and a sponge to collect enough DNA to show that the big red splotch in the ditch *was* once Saddam...
