I will admit that you have a good point there. But, what do you do when the folks in charge are corrupt? Luther had no choice.

Sure he did, Trust Christ. Schism is the next kin to heresy, and the "fruit" of the Diet of Worms has been just that. Today there are corrupt homosexual deviants in leadership roles in the Catholic Church. This is a FACT. They are like the "thorn" St. Paul says God told him made him "strong through his weakness". Luther chose to succumb, to violate his solemn vows to God and to create a division in the Body of Christ that endures to this day. So very sad.
