Why? The stations are just trying to protect their bottom line. If the rates go up as much as the FCC has recommended, it could get very expensive to allow the "shock jocks" to have free reign anymore.

However, there is XM Radio - and there you can say whatever you want. The guy who's paying the bill gets to decide how raunchy he wants it. That's just fine!!

XM rocks and it's only $10/month.

I imagine XM would love to have exclusive contracts with big-draw talk radio hosts such as Stern.
