Calpers says it won't back Eisner (DIS) By Russ Britt
LOS ANGELES (CBS.MW) -- The California Public Employees Retirement System said Tuesday it will withhold voting for Walt Disney Co. (DIS) Chairman and Chief Executive Michael Eisner on its nearly 10 million shares of company stock. Also known as Calpers, the group said it has "lost complete confidence in Mr. Eisner's strategic vision and leadership in creating shareholder value in the company." Calpers said it will vote to retain all other board members.

Why would Arnold have a beef with Eisner? I'm trying to understand. Help.

Well, Disney has 2 billion shares outstanding, so CALPERS 10 million shares isn't that large an amount. I bet Eisner himself owns more (or options thereon).

Even if Eisner wins re-election, he is in a world of hurt. The Board will NOT let Eisner get voted out - he'll be forced to "retire" or just plain tossed out.

Just a guess on my part, not based on any shred of reality. It just wouldn't surprise me.

I dunno if this is good, or not.
Being a public service group in CA,
CALPERS, I would think, is as liberal as liberal can be.
They may want someone even more bizarre the Eisner !!!

What happen to Calpers?
Why are they doing something that is right not PC or to feather the nests of elite leftist fascists in control of leftist companies?
