You always confirm my best expectations of admirable behavior as a man and a caring individual. This instance is no exception.
One more time you challenge each of us as to our proper engagement as men and parents with respect to our duty to God and country.
The gut wrenching process of letting your progeny go and turning over the choices they must face on their own to themselves and to God is a time-honored delimna and indeed a rite of passage for oneself in this blessing we experience as our lives.
With sons in the same age cohart as the people in your example, I know well the heartache and uncertainty that must be faced square on by every father as this inevitably arises. While each of us must ultimately make these choices, some of us have sought refuge and found courage in turning the situation over to our Higher Power. Ultimately, it is a crime of gross self deception to believe that we as individuals have any power to decide the lives of others for it is God’s will and not our own that determines all outcomes.
Thank you Ronnie, for your wonderful example of maturity ,love and courage to present this issue in your now familiar and most welcome way.
While others may indeed choose other means, I prefer to accept the will of God and accept the concept that God is guiding us to our good.
Thanks for the ping!
