quorum - The number of Senators that must be present for the Senate to do business. The Constitution requires a majority of Senators (51) for a quorum. Often, fewer Senators are actually present on the floor, but the Senate presumes that a quorum is present unless the contrary is shown by a roll call vote or quorum call.

His office told me yesterday that he hadn't taken a position yet. I suspect they lied.

Has everyone here called their senator?
I called Sen. Stabenow's office (D) this morning and politely told her staff member what I expected her to do in regards to the bill and the possible ammendments.
I also e-mailed her twice.
She voted "yes".
So don't blow off your Democrat senator, if you have one. Contact them and politely let their staff know how you feel about this.

Rats will not want to touch this. They would rather hide their true belief until after it is overThe evidence says otherwise since they are obviously bringing it up. Besides it isn't the Democrats who have said that they will sign it into law it's 'Pubie Bush.

DID KENNEDY JUST LIE??????
To: OXENinFLA
I did. The proxy at work is really starting to chap my ass. I can get some audio streams, but not others. Depends on how the media server wants to pipe the stream. If it forces it through anything other than port 74 on my end, it tanks.

Kennedy is on now.
"Special Interest Legislation" is his new sound bite.
He's yelling now. At least now, he's not reading directly from his notes.
"it's a civl rights issue, it's a womans issue, it's a childrens issue..."
"the nations business is increasing the mininum wage"
"no, no, no, were going to have special interest legislation..."
"basic mismanagement of the economy... people can't put food on the table... they are hard working Americans."
"Cadwell Admendment will extend the unemployment compensation...."
"Let us at least provide some temporary help...."
"Special Interest Legislation...."
"Special Interest Legislation...."
To: Dan from Michigan
Unempolyment was NOT extended under Clinton!
To: OXENinFLA
I walked out of the room.

Is this a fillibuster? Is this what they do when they want to attach ammendments?
