The big local newspapers are the Poughkeepsie Journal, Middletown Times-Herald Record, Westchester-Gannet, and Kingston Freeman. I have seen nothing in the local papers and I live close enough to that plant to see the discharge from the stacks. (In fact, we fish 100 yards off shore from the plant during the stripped bass season.)

From the Poughkeepsie Journal

"NEWBURGH -- Police are investigating the death of a man found in the Hudson River wearing scuba gear. The body was spotted floating Sunday by the crew of a cargo ship that had delivered coal to Dynergy's Danskammer power plant, Town of Newburgh police said. Newburgh town police were trying to establish the man's identity. The man is 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 pounds, with dark brown shoulder-length hair, a mustache and goatee. He was wearing two goldtone small hoop earrings in both ears and has a tattoo on the left side of his chest. The tattoo depicts a cross with the initials CMM, and a second tattoo on the man's left shoulder shows an angel with yellow hair. Anyone with information is asked to call town detectives at 845-564-1100."
