I wonder what it was? It sounds Horrible. Thankfully you are well now. (I had a bout with Lyme awhile back-it was initially diagnosed as a recluse spider bite.) Nowhere near what you went through!

I don't know whcih would be worse, lyme disease or the spider bite? Neither would be fun.
