After a nautical maneuver that put his crew in grave danger (i.e., headed into rather than out of range of hostile fire), JF'ing Kerry abandoned his water craft & crew, ran ashore and shot a wounded, fleeing (cowering?) Viet Cong (likely) in the back. Is that likely war crime the heroic act upon which you determine he is a hero?
Do you have access to the written recommendation that described his actions and got him his Silver Star? I'd like to see it.

Don't forget, the VC was also probably unarmed since he dropped his rocket launcher after being hit with a 50 Caliber round.
