What could be more simple?My philosophy: vote for Bill Jones in the primary--he is the most conservative man who can win in California, given the realities of the present situation (finances, overall political temperment, et cetera). Vote for the GOP candidate--whoever it is--in the general election.
What's to debate beyond that?
