Howard Kaloogian represents the grass-roots sentiment the official party hierarchy dismisses at its peril. He's a first class stand up guy who should be our Senate candidate to take on the uber-liberal Babs Boxer in November. We need a principled conservative in the U.S Senate. The rest of the field are RINOs. Let me be blunt, Bill Jones and the rest are nice folks but Boxer will eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner cause on the issues of concern to Californians, their positions aren't too different from hers. And if we nominate another Matt Fong-like RINO, we will have Boxer around forever.

Right on. The 'establishment' seems not to understand how to beat Boxer. She can be beaten, but only by a challenger that goes after her hammer and tong.

ABSOLUTELY! And the party according to Skelton's column in the LA Times today (Monday) deliberately attempted to keep the press from covering this rally. Funny how the establishment of the party believes they can try to suppress those who believe in the IDEAS and IDEALS of the party, so that they can instead prop up those who are in it for the power, the ego, and the choice seat in the party apparatus and ruling structure.

Gosh I really dislike those who sell out our principles in exchange for their ticket to the A-List parties. What souless people!!

Here's the report of the actions of the California GOP establishment from today's LA Times:

The polarization was evident Saturday at a Republican state convention in Burlingame, where hundreds of delegates were whipped up at an anti-illegal immigration rally staged by former Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian, a candidate for the party's U.S. Senate nomination.

Delegates protested President Bush's plan to offer legal status for undocumented workers and Schwarzenegger's intention to reach a compromise that would provide driver's licenses for illegal immigrants. "Enough is enough," they chanted.

...

Annoyed party leaders — trying to reach out to Latinos offended by Prop. 187 a decade ago — attempted to detract reporters from the rally. They wouldn't allow notices about it to be left in the press room. And they staged an unrelated news conference about the time the rally started. But they couldn't deter delegates from attending or reporters from covering.
