Interesting. Does you blend of faith and science allow for life only on the planet of one of the "great lights", the sun or on other planets of other "great lights" - the multitude of distant stars? Genesis speaks, "And God made two great lights". Science speaks, "uncountable great lights".
My theory is that God was speaking to a "home town meeting" in the language that the "locals" could comprehend, and God is on an eternal speaking engagement.
I don't condemn anybody for believing in aliens even though I don't really believe that myself.
