"This paper provides a plausible explanation for how, with a little help from outside, the chemistry of non-life - characterized by randomness and complexity - becomes the ordered and specific chemistry of life."I guess with enough thrust, pigs can be made to fly also, but not bloody likely.

And knowing the origin of life should also let us know its end. Then would we be truly God-like.
I doubt it's ever gonna' happen.

I don't know whether it will be first by "ET's" or first by God Almighty, but I expect evolution to be left in the dust in our lifetime.
Thanks.

Think this is worth pinging the whole list? We've seen threads on this topic before.

We should keep quiet about the "orders from space" stuff. Not everyone knows where Darwin Central is.

INTREP - Notice all of the "could possibly" speculative language. Even if we were to grant them their hypothesis, it stills does not explain where the information carried on the DNA came from...and Information can ONLY come from one source - a MIND...information does not self-generate in matter - it is impossible!
To: LiteKeeper
and Information can ONLY come from one source - a MIND...information does not self-generate in matter - it is impossible! Could you please point me to a proof of this?
If you're a carrier of sickle-cell anemia (meaning you're perfectly healthy, but if your spouse is also a carrier, then 1/4 of your children will have the anemia), doesn't your genome have more information than it would if you just had genes for normal hemoglobin? And there is no evidence that sickle-cell was designed - it looks like any other random mutation, and if it were designed to help fight malaria, the designer could have come up with a design that doesn't cause anemia (at least if the designer were something as powerful as the Christian deity)
