I can just see it - the confiscated lights and sirens might be transferred to the new NYC Smoking Police!

Actually, the real question that should be asked is why useless city officials such...ever should have been permitted to use sirens and strobe lights to get through city traffic in the first place. Exactly. Do you know how much it costs to outfit just one vehicle with all that crap? I used to do it for a living for municiple fleet vehicles. That stuff ain't cheap.
