Why?...why would the President who is waging a war on terror ...leave the back door open to these same terrorists to infiltrate....?
At the same time allow millions of criminals access to Americas heartland....
They are not just poor folks looking for work...these are also hard core criminals coming over as well...Methamphetamine courriers and dealers...Mexican Mafia...Central American drug cartel mules..
We got American haters from every nation on earth crossing our wide open borders....
They are even picking up Chinese crossing over from Mexico
Abre los ojos...El Presidente Jorge Arbusto.....por favor...

You forgot this blurb about the author of this article.
Matt Hayes began practicing immigration law shortly after graduating from Pace University School of Law in 1994, representing new immigrants in civil and criminal matters. He is the author of The New Immigration Law and Practice, to be published in October.
Semma that Mr. Hayes is getting his order from the Kerry/Moby group.

Misleading headline because no numbers are cited. It has the look of a liberal hit piece.

How could a "PROPOSED" new immigration law be ENFORCED or NOT, when it is NOT been even debated much less ENACTED? This article is BS IMHO.

Every year around this time the attempted crossings into our country begins to rise. The end of Feb and beginning of March alway show a spike in attempts. Common sense points to the Spring Season. Lots of farmers will be hiring cheap laborors around this time. Yes, they may say it is for the amnesty, but I believe amnesty or no amnesty, they would have still attempted to cross the border. Even without amnesty the illegals were being taken care of by our tax dollars.

Predictable from the very first. I also said this would happen, because it's what happened the last time.
I still support President Bush for reelection, but this proposal was a big mistake for our country and a stupid political mistake for Bush. I hope it doesn't cost us the kind of majority in the Senate that would let Bush appoint some decent judges and make it easier for him to pursue the war on terror.

Officers of the Border Patrol have now been directed to ask a set of questions of the illegal aliens they apprehend running across the border.By who?

Not sure what's more disgusting--the increase in illegals over the border due to the amnesty proposal, or the Republicans supporting it.

This amnesty thing is my biggest gripe about Bush, whom I happily supported in 2000. Does he not see that we are literally facing the Mexicanization of America?
To: VU4G10
Calling the Bush proposal "amnesty" is what is causing the mis-interpretation.
They have to have a damn job in addition to a number of other things to qualify for the visa.
They will also be significantly fined for crossing illegally to begin with.
The BS being spread about something proposed is what will cause a increase in crossing.
Bush better get out in front of this soon.
