In reality, you must look at the entire candidate and get inside his head. You have to judge him by all his past actions, policies, beliefs and philosophies.Words and deeds

I'm only too happy to disagree with you on one point. The North Vietnamese and Viet Cong never defeated the U.S. military. We never lost a significant military engagement. I'm not sure where this idea originated and you are not the only person who I've heard say this. Those of us who served there were just as dedicated and couragous as todays soldiers. Our government failed us in this war, not the military

I want all of us at free republic to e-mail as many of these posts out to any who would read the next months articles.to whoever will be rightly informed of the new jfk.
we can't be sitting, crying in november if the media machine has totally whitewashed this dirt ball to less discerning, less thoughtfull souls that might pull the lever

Kerry is RIGHT. Al Quaida is NOT that bad. After all, they let us KNOW they are our enemies, the opponents of freedom, western civlization and our basic constitutional freedoms.
Comtrast then with vipers like Kerry, Kennedy, Feinstein, etc. who represent themselves as legitimate Americans and the difference is enlightening.
Kerry will be flushed down the toilette like the piece of northeastern political offal he is, if the Republicans hang tough and battle it out with him like they did in 2000 when they used every legal option to keep the Dems from stealing the election.
And any Republican or conservative on this board who doesn't go out and work vigorously for Bush and support him because of some differences on individual issues with this administration is totally insane, considering the alternative.
You think Bush's Amnesty program was bad? The Dems didn't support it because it doesn't go far enough.
You think the budget is in bad shape now (We ARE in a WAR you know) wait and see what the Dems would do.
You are pissed off because Bush said he would sign a renewal of the assault rifle ban? What do ou think Kerrry and his allies like Corzine, Lautenberg, Feinstein, Schumer, Kennedy, etc would do?
Go out and support Bush and work for a Republican victory in COngress and in the White House. This is going to be tough, dirty fight.

SARASOTA, Florida (AP) -- For the better part of a decade, the man suspected of killing an 11-year-old girl whose abduction was caught on videotape had been under the supervision of Florida's criminal justice system. But despite his many brushes with the law, Joseph P. Smith never spent long behind bars.
Now, Carlie Brucia's grieving family is demanding to know why Smith -- a drug addict who admitted attacking one woman and was accused of trying to kidnap another -- was a free man.
The longest Smith has ever spent in prison is less than 14 months. He was acquitted of the most serious crime on his rap sheet, an attempted kidnapping, after telling jurors he meant the woman no harm...
JOHN KERRY DOESN'T SUPPORT THE DEATH PENALTY FOR THIS MAN

"Our government failed us in this war, not the military."Agreed with but one small change since we are austensibly a "government of, for, and by the people".
"The American people failed the military in this war, not the other way around."

John Kerry has as much chance of beating Bush, as CBS putting Janet Jackson on the Superbowl half time show next year. I am not so sure. The demonization of President Bush in the OldDominantLiberalMedia has been relentless. I have personally had contact with people who were staunch conservatives and conservative leaning independents who just bought into the media propaganda that "we are in another Vietnam" Bush is the worst president in our lifetime, and "Iraq was no threat to us, we should never have gone there".
I have been shocked and appalled by the way these people have been brainwashed, and I didn't see it coming because I don't watch TV. Most people still do.

I agree 100%...the alternative would be disastrous for this country!
I also feel that we need to stop trying to pacify the left on alot of the issues out there, the "olive branch" was held out and shoved up our collective rears by the left in the last 3 years...time to get back to basics and doing things the RIGHT way!

See Zulu's post #10.
We've got to work really hard on this one to counteract the media and a level of dirty tricks where the Dems will really surpass themselves.
For the first time ever, I have volunteered to be a precinct captain and do everything possible to get out the vote, and I think we should all take an active part in some way in this campaign.
I have heard a number of people say that this is going to be one of the most important elections in our history and will determine the future of this country, not only in quality, but whether we actually have a future.
Nobody can stand on the sidelines for this one.

Give the Dems an inch and they'll take a mile, besides biting off the hand that offerred it.
The actions of the Senate Republicans towards Bolsheviks like Rockefeller and Levy on the Security Committee leaks have been disgraceful..
Orrin Hatch is so low he could crawl under a slug. What qa naive, ignoramus he is. He's still in shock at the Dems behavior at the Cliton hearings and hasn't recovered yet.

Agreed,
It will be a close one if we don't get the message through the filter.
Free Republic is great, but it's preaching to a choir of politically engaged truth seekers.
The vast majority of independents are disengaged politically.

"I have personally had contact with people who were staunch conservatives and conservative leaning independents who just bought into the media propaganda that "we are in another Vietnam" Bush is the worst president in our lifetime, and "Iraq was no threat to us, we should never have gone there". Sadly, I am seeing and hearing this all around me too. Most of the people I know are very poorly informed and what news they get comes from the alphabet networks and Jay Leno. Pathetic, but dangerous nevertheless. Not only that, but I am hearing an increasing number of people saying they just won't vote at all this time. The outcome of this election is far from certain and we'd d*mn well better pull out everything we've got and go on the offensive. Someone who is always on the defensive appears weak. Of course, Republicans getting aggressive against the RATs' dirty tricks is about as likely as America being attacked by an invasion of rabid, killer bunnies from outer space, so given that, I would say that we're in deep doo-doo.
