The subject of infidelity has not come up. Kerry asserts that RNC will do anything to change the subject, and the subjects are jobs, environment, health care, etc.

Imus says TIME, other news outlets are focused on Viet Nam and the past, for both Kerry and Bush. Asks Kerry "Why is that?"

Kerry says it's because Viet Nam is still interesting to the public. Kerry says that he and McCain were pivotal in normalizing relations with Viet Nam. Viet Nam has had a profound affect on how people (his generation) perceive war.

Kerry changes subject, to talk about the deficiet, wehre the war effort is off budget, the deficiet grows. We can fight a more effective war on terror, the world is waiting for us to show better leadership .... Imus says "you make sense, but the public is focused on the picture of you w/Fonda, and Bush's dental records. Goes on to say that Kerry brought up the subject." Kerry's response is that he's not going to bring it up. Then he goes on to talk about why Viet Nam was wrong. Kerry is in full campaign mode.

Imus: Is there anything in your past that will derail your campaign? In particular, is there any truth to the Drudge report?

Kerry: None. You can continue to support me.

That was the extent of the discussion.

Viet Nam has had a profound affect on how people (his generation) perceive war.

Now he's right on that one.

We learned not to trust anyone who would make sure we "don't win" a war.

Lurch is exactly that type of B/S artist we have learned not to trust.
