"In announcing his proposal, President Bush recognized America's proud tradition of welcoming immigrants," said Sen. Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, the subcommittee's ranking Democrat. "He acknowledged the essential role that immigrants have had and continue to have in our nation's
life."

Kennedy likes it, the only reason anyone should need to oppose it.

Kennedy likes it, the only reason anyone should need to oppose it.

Senator Kennedy, one of the authors of the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1965, recognizes, quite correctly, that passage of President Bush's "guest worker" Amnesty for Illegal Aliens would represent a major incremental victory for the Democrat Party, which favors full Amnesty.

President Bush is with the Democrats on Illegals, and against the American mainstream, as well as most of the GOP rank and file.
