No, people have principles. Politics is a game.

People don't vote largely because they have no clue who to vote for and so refuse to participate.

They refuse to allot the time and effort it takes to remain informed.

it is better really that they do not vote unless they educate themselves.

It seems all efforts to do that have thus far been fruitless.

Some areas like Minnesota and some others have exceedingly high participation. Some do not and it seems to track with education.
