Ok I was beginning to think they were holding a one-sided show. Most of these senators already have their minds made up anyway and I tend to believe it's not with their constituents.

Our hope is in Congress where they don't even have hearings scheduled fortunately. We do need to keep on them to pass the CLEAR Act, the only sensible thing out there.

More on Vernon Briggs the last speaker of the day

He said Guest Worker has NEVER worked and cited so many committee's and proof

An accomplished list of his publications:

Selected Publications

"International Migration and Labor Mobility: The Receiving Countries," Julien van den Braeck (Ed.) The Economics of Labour Migration. (Cheltemham, U.K.: Edward Elgar Publishing, 1996) .

Mass Immigration and the National Interest (revised edition) (Armonk, NY: M.E. Sharpe, Inc., 1996) .

"Mass Immigration, Free Trade, and the Forgotten American Worker," Challenge: The Magazine of Economic Affairs. (May 1995) .

Still An Open Door? US Immigration Policy and the American Economy (Washington, DC: American University Press, 1994) .

"Immigrant Labor and the Issue of 'Dirty Work`in Advanced Industrial Societies," Population and Environment. (July 1993) .

Labor Economics: Theory, Institutions, and Public Policy (Homewood, IL: Richard D. Irwin, Inc., 1989) (with R. Marshall) .

Immigration and American Unionism 2nd edition (Ithaca, NY: Cornell University Press, 2001) .

"American Unionism and U.S. Immigration Policy" Backgrounder. (Washington D.C.: Center for Immigration Studies, 2001) .

"American-style Capitalism and Income Disparity: The Challenge of Social Anarchy" Journal of Economic Issues. (1998) .

"Reining-in a Rogue Policy: The Imperative of Immigration Reform" Inter-American Law Review. (University of Miami, 1999) .

He said it has been tried after all Wars and has had disastrous consequences. He has argued against this for 30 years! He told Pres. Carter to vote aginst H2 program. And has many studies at Cornell Univ.

Everything he has learned in 30 years says DON'T!

He cited Hessenberg, which I assume is:
the mathematician (professor in Bonn)

He cited him though as "Father" and that 34 million American's are earning less than $7.80 an hour and the illegals forces working here are killing us!

Said it is in fact a Security issue! And face it we need a biometric ID, not a National ID and the hell with PC for a "Job" is our nation's Most precious resource!

I give huge applause to Vernon Briggs!

Look at his VITA:
http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/directory/vmb2/vita.htm

Look at his Bio:
http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/directory/vmb2/biography.htm

His Expertise is in Labor Market Trends and Analysis, Labor Force Composition, Employment Law and Policy, Immigration

I would have to do more research on Hessenberg and his immmigration believes, maybe from Cornell U?

But Hessenberg has proven as a whole GW/Amnesty programs are bad policy

That earned amnesty Schumer proposed is a disaster {as described in the NY Times}

Briggs went on to say thes proposals only encourage false documenting and the "Salk{?} proposal {anyone know this?}
is a disaster! That GW programs as a basis for immigration should NEVER be used! All former bi-partisian committee's have been against it.

He emphatecially testified:
"NO AMNESTY! NO GW PROGRAMS!!!"

I had to reboot...
More on Papademetriou

Said he has also been studying this for 30 years and we need to get "Down and Dirty" that the Bush policy is not enough and he wants permanent legal status and contradicted Briggs respectfully he claims.

Senator Sessions

"WE are sadly FAR away from where we need to be and a LONG way to go and we are not considering local law enforcement and INS is not doing the job reuqested of them and don't bother to call them! We need to tell him and the other's {{WHY is ICE opening a new office in Switzerland and not investing this money in local law enforcement it is called HOMELAND Security!}}

He said we're talking 'retrospective' amnesty but the 'prospective' amnesty is even worse! Welcome those who want to come here LEGALLY!

I thought Sessions was great!

FAIR:

His report card is good on Amnesty and FAIR says thanks!

S. 1645 - The Agricultural Job, Opportunity, Benefits, and Security Act of 2003 (AgJOBS)

S. 1545 - Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2003DREAM Act

S. 8 - Educational Excellence for All Learners Act of 2003

Good report also on Guestworkers:

Papademetriou sounds like a clown. His interests are personal and not the country's.

Our Favorite Kyl!

He cited Cochise County and just today said he read 156 illegals were found in one Phoenix home! Alot of convincing BS from him.

He cited hospital costs, prisons and no funding, environment {cited the Wilderness article} about trash etc., the police picking up and INS will not fetch them, and these are all problems with illegals and the taxpayers are footing the bill!

He talked about the Rival Gang business {Coyotes} and the smuggling going on in Tucson and Phoenix has gotten way out of hand. That Phoenix homicide rate is 2/3 due to illegals!

He said they need to convince citizen's first that they are committed to enforcing the existing laws before we can even expect any of our proposals. Then he brought up a 3 day 50 mile Visa! Yes folks, like a bus pass that can be bought!

He said given the message of those citizens he's hearing from, that our laws are being easily broken and ignored by illegals and the government!

That local law enforcement, border agents are suffering because the laws should be enforced FIRST and Reform later.

He cited 6 million visa applications just sitting and making 10-12 illegals- legal.

FAIR's report card:

On amnesty they say thanks
On GW it is mixed:

Asa was the last to speak from the so-called expert panel
And he seemed so 'junior' in his approach to resolving this problem, he has not one clue!

He was redundant in stating we need to diminish incentives.
Well, then why give them everything they want, what incentive is left?!

He's really into the biometric technology. He was queried on the detention removal center that beds 20,000 now and also had know clue what to use it for!

The second panel of idiots bar Vernon Briggs who said Bush should NOT pursue this policy, he stated emphatically DON't!

Richard Birkman -President of Texas Roofing Company
http://www.texasroofing.com/

This joker alleges today's American's do not want 'dirty' work or like roofing! He said we are in a labor crisis and the illegals are willing to get their hands dirty! He
continously stated myths that were well, MYTHS!~

He said we will not be roofer's at $7.50-$8 an hour to be trained
OR
$11-$14 for experienced roofer's
OR
$21 for journeymen roofer's

He claims no American will do this work! And it pays anywhere between $40-$50 K a year!

He needs mail from us folks, especially you all who are looking for work in the Lubbock area~

American's won't do dirty work is his motto, oh yah, contact this fool please!

BTW Birkman loves his Cornyn!

One speaker who could not make it at the last minute was replaced by someone named Fontez, do not know the organization. He said our immigration system is archaic and spewed alot of rhetoric. He wants and praises the Matricular Card, but it should become biometric with a thumb print on it to make falsification impossible.

Remember 18 out of 19 terrorists had State issued driver's license's and many have come here with false documentation

No, I didn't catch that one. I had some urgent work to get out the door. Sounds like a good show. NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and the new FTAA all sucks. The goal is to turn Canada, USA, and Mexico into one political entity, like the EU. :(
