Kerry has already started accusing the Bush administration and the re-election campaign of "oiling up the smear machine". I wonder what revelation he is preparing everyone for? I assume the media will uncover it pretty soon and then Mr. Kerry can scream an outraged, "I TOLD YOU SO!".
He protests a little too much for me.
I would think "Kerry served in Vietnam while President Bush only flew planes in the National Guard" was the Kerry campaign's idea of a political smear. They neglected to consider how John Kerry defended Bill Clinton (a man who noted that he "loathed the military"). John Kerry also went antiwar loon (protesting WITH Jane Fonda).
I guess if the George W. Bush campaign answers Kerry's charges "AWOL" accusations with these facts it will be labeled an attempt to "smear" Kerry.
