But can you acknowledge that the lack of distinction or proportion in many of the slams against 'principled conservatives' really gets on the nerves of many very committed conservative Republicans?

Well, we probably should knock off using that term, although it derives from the Bush-bashers
constantly telling us that they are principled and we are not.
In response to your objection, I will start calling them "my way or the highway" types.

Those who agitate against Bush, trying to get others to NOT vote for Bush are NOT conservative Republicans.
