There is too much bashing (across the board) and it isn't benefiting anyone anything.

Yes, you included. You and your personal insults.

That's what you got for mischaracterizing me directly,

Source please.

Or we could bury the hatchet.

Your call. I'm cool either way.

I am bashing the 20% unappeasables

If you ain't got names, you got no ground to stand on. If you can't say what you gotta say to someone's FACE without couching it in terms of "they" and "them," you are a coward.

Votes aren't "weighted." The vote of the most unabashed "small govt.-cut spending" FReeper isn't any more valuable to W than the vote of the guy who "almost voted for Gore in 2000." Rove knows this: peeling off one vote more than half of the squishster middle is where the win is.

Then you assumed wrong. I didn't even utter the word until you lashed out at me, just because you disagree with me, that instantly makes me a Democrat right? Interesting set of logic you got going there.

Go back to the post where you "insinuated" I was a DUMBoCRAT.

I said it was a DUMocRAT tactic. Which you interpeted as me calling you a DUMBocRAT, IF I offened you then I offer this apology.

Not fair. Posted while I was typing. ;-)

But it doesn't change the substance of what I'm saying. Your constant grouping of conservatives generally with a group that got a tiny fraction of the vote, less than 1%, in 2000 is just plain wrong.

You allow your bitterness against those you judge threw the election to Clinton in '92 color your thinking to the point that it leads you into error.

And Perot wasn't even a conservative.

Sure, some small portion, very small, of conservatives voted for him, but part of the reason for that is the way they were treated by the GOP leadership, mainly moderate to liberal leadership (which has of course been my point.)

But most of them were just Joe-Sixpacks who bought into his pseudo-populist Larry King Schtick.

Man, you can't fool me. I have been dealing with the 'moderates' for years, and I have seen this attitude we are discussing tonight out there over and over and over again.

To some of y'all, we conservatives are nothing more than red-headed stepchildren.

You can read the thread as well as I can, you can read the 3 threads calling for gridlock as well as I can you can read the 2 threads from the John Birch Society as well as I can, You can read the 2 threads shilling for the Constitution party as well as I can. You can read the Immigration threads originating from American Patrol as well as I can. There is no shortage of examples.

Did Bill Frist just fire Manuel Miranda for finding the demoflat's plan to use the intelligence committee's findings against Bush by leaking real intel, or did he call the dems on the carpet for it? Don't game me, I told you. Frist fired his chief of staff to placate teddy and the morons. I am betrayed. Manuel is betrayed. And so are we all. We had the real deal in our hands and didn't use it. They sure would have used it on us.

Now, if you MUST respond, please know what you are talking about.

LOL

No one ....strike that....few here fight fire with fire and see poilitical struggle like the enemy does. Bush may, or may not, be the best thing since video tape...but he's a damned sight better than anything the enemy has to offer. To many, W is a bastard...but he's "our" bastard. There is a reason W is president. Be it Divine intervention or the unconcious collective good taste of the American people.

As it stands, there are no reincarnations of the calibre of the Founders. Not that any one of them would be seen as anything but a rabblerouser or an antiquity best stowed in a museum. We'll need more than one more term to undo the damage done to this nation. After Bush wins his second term, it'll be imperative that we groom the next person for renewal. The question is, who will it be?

That question is the daunting one.

I could jam you up about the "y'all" statement the way you are doing me but I won't. If the unappeasable don’t want to be treated like Red Headed stepchildren then they should stop BEING stepchildren and pull their damn weight at the polls..

Then your interests would be better served by posting to the threads you site. Your broadbrush attacks are the tactics I thought only democrats used, and they use them because they have no postive argument for voting for their candidates. If you believe that your candidate has positive solutions for America, you ought not need to bash others, not even your candidate's opponent, but especially not conservative congressmen, press, and FReepers.
