I understand and appreciate that.
This is occurring now, however, as a direct result of NCLB.

As a retired math teacher, and still active in schools, I am not aware of this. Can you give me a link?

WE are sick and tired and fed up, and sick and tired of ALL of the anti-Bush stuff being posted to FR, by the doom&gloomers/nays sayers/MORE CONSERVATGIVE THAN THOUers/fringers! You got a nice get out the vote tactic there, for whom I have no idea.

'Amnesty' BS
BS is right because it is NOT an amnesty. Most reacted to what they decided it was and no longer even bother to read exactly what it says.

"Your incessant postings on any and all threads that she posts on, (making comments that aren't quite adult I might add), do not contribute to the subject of debate."Your opinion is duly noted, yet deemed... irrelevant.
And quite frankly, a number of posters are sick and tired of being referred to by Her Highness as "political naifs," the "fringe," and idiotic charges of "NEVER supporting the President."
How long must we be expected to suffer to this demogoguery??
It was cute the first hundred times...

I will ask the ex-wife next Wed. when i visit my kids for more specific information. This may be NCLB or it may be what the County thinks NCLB is or should be. I don't have more specific information right now.

Dear Nix,
I haven't read the replies yet, but I can imagine what is to come.
I agree with you and applaud you for your stand. No matter the aspersions on your character you will receive, you are right. Some people here are committed to using conservative "principles" to destroy the president. They care about nothing but defeating him, even at the expense of the country.
To: sauropod
Thanks. I would appreciate that.

I hold the opposite philosophy.
Pay off the debt now, so that you aren't throwing thousands of dollars away in interest. Wouldn't you rather have that thousands of dollars in interest saved in your bank account for a rainy day, then going to the bank?
In other words, pay off the debt sooner, rather than later.
There are times when incurring debt is a good or necessary thing. Unexpected medical bills (borrowing from my personal experience) to saved a loved one's life. Borrowing money for college to ensure a higher earning potential in the future. Borrowing for a more secure, more reliable car so you can get to work on time.
But, again, the sooner you pay these off, the less money going to other people than your bank account.
Only one problem with the Dems. They won't pay off the debt, either. They fought the Republican Congress tooth and nail against a balanced budget amendment, spent money like crazy, and still fought us on the war on terror. They won't "save" money in a "rainy day" fund for us, they will spend it. And they certainly cried like they were pulling money out of their *own* darn pockets when President Bush wanted to give some back to the very people who earned it in the first place!

IF that is the case, I don't find it cute the FIRST time.
Plead your case to the Mod's using specific citations of the demogoguery.
It's verging on SPAM.

I have considered other peoples' opinions for quite some time. That's why I wrote this. It's exactly the same as trying to explain Santorum's position on the Texas Sodomy law. I'm still trying to get an apology from O'Reilly for doing exactly what I've seen a lot of you guys do. You don't seem to understand that these programs are the means to an end of them, not a gifthorse for all time as the dems wanted them to be.
Amnesty is no amnesty. Medicare REFORM is REFORM and has been needed for decades. Spending is up. Taxes are down. The stockmarket is up. Unemployment is down. There are two sets of statistics for how many jobs have been created and/or lost. The dems always pick the farm stats because they do not reflect the true statistics for the entire country.
Please don't think that you are the only one who works very hard for conservative candidates, because you aren't. I just do a bit more research, and I am of the opinion that a lot of the details are either deliberately skewed when passed on to the public, or some people won't ever be satisfied until they can cry foul and it will really be foul.
The deficit will right itself if we stay the course Bush has mapped out. The Medicare Reform plan doesn't even begin for ten years. By then, if we can pull in our peacock struts and elect who is GOOD for this country, the coffers will be overflowing, at which time, MORE tax cuts are in fine order.
Sauropod, the example you gave of teaching retarded children algebra might well be true, but don't kid yourself into thinking that the Teachers' Unions really give a damb about those kids or many others.
Your wife might be very special. I know many teachers who truly are. But the powers that have prevailed in this country for so long have blown ill winds and chased many good teachers out of the profession. The majority are woefully lacking, and no insult to your wife or her students, but yes, there are TOO many who want to see this program fail and they overwhelmingly support the nanny state and would rather be Dr. Feelgoods than teachers.

Some people here are committed to using conservative "principles" to destroy the president. They care about nothing but defeating him, even at the expense of the country. Care to be specific about who these evil people are?
Or are you just casting aspersions willy-nilly.
