It is still worth remembering that Weld's errors were (1)he was trying to be nice, (2)he did allow a lot of stuff from Kerry's mouth go unchallenged.

William F. Weld, the affable aristocrat who had won his second term as governor two years earlier with 71 percent of the vote.

Could be some graveyard whistling going on.

I've been wondering about the warchests. Why, instead of some advertising, not rent every van in the country for election day. Spend the money renting vans. All of them. Every single one. The Dems truck inner city voters to the polls. Let's see them buy the vans that they'll have to use to do that. Let's rent all of them ourselves and spend the day with them maybe driving an occasional GOP voter to the polls, but mostly just tooling around the highways.
