Bill, it kills me to see this stuff! I am old enough to remember when the American image of a Canuck was that of a rugged, tough, resourceful man, a hockey player or a lumberjack, a Mountie or a trapper, and if you gave him any sh!t, you'd "get a right good thumpin', by Jesus!" With 1/10 of our population, the RCN and its Corvettes kept the North Atlantic free for four years in the worst weather. There was Normandy and beyond, of course, and a lot of people have forgotten that following VE-day, the RCAF was the second-biggest NATO air force in Europe for the next few years!
So... what happened? And how can we not make the same mistakes?
Well, as far as I can remember Canadians have hated "Americans". Funny that they are now trying to blame their hate on George Bush.
Fortunately, Americans do not hate Canadians. We have taken the high road. We love our neighbors and are kind to them.
