"Anyone who tries to tell me that Russia is not the primary threat facing this nation will recieve a fusillade of contrary facts in response, and I don't care if you're the President himself. "

Oh, dear. How about, Russia WAS a primary threat to us, until recently, as in until a year or two ago?
I think Russia was using Iraq, Iran, etc. as proxies against the US. But I really think and see evidence, that Bush succeeded, with words and actions, to convince Putin that Russia's interests are better served by being aligned with us, than against us. That doesn't mean we can fully trust them, but I personally think we can trust Putin more, than we can trust Chirac.
Among other things, note the way Russia didn't say a peep, when we withdrew from the ABM treaty. The Democrats were really upset, thought, that now we will be free to defend the US.

One news item I did see recently was Russia's fury over our contacts with Georgia.
