IMO, 9/11 was actually a failure. It was probably intended to fully decapitate the leadership of our country. Something much larger might have followed had they actually succeeded.

This may sound naive, but I hadn't considered the full extent of what might have happened, or the totality of their "plan". I suppose, since the attack was such a shock and tragedy, I hadn't wrapped my brain around anything other than the plan being a shock and tragedy. You've given me more to mull.
