I thought the phrase "dog disease" was just one of those translation things. Like them maybe calling us rabid and the translation comes out as dog disease? Maybe someone who know arabic could help with that.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. What else could they mean. What is considered a "dog" disease in their culture; could the translation be different, etc....

I think you're right on with the machine translation of "dog disease". There is a poster over at IH called CX who was warning muslims in America to stay away from mosques and worship at home after the attacks, in order to stay away from RABID Americans. It seemed to me that he was simply referring to the possibility of retaliation by angry Americans. I'll go back over there and get a link.
