More than that I think. The book 5th Horseman of the Apocalypse by Collins and LaPierre sets the time in 1975.
Unless you're talking about another incident.
President Ford, when faced with this scenario, chose not to create panic by informing the public(what else could he do) , and apparently called the terrorist bluff.
Book did not make clear if a bomb was found, how etc.

Collins and LaPierre sets the time in 1975. That sounds right. I lived in the Back Bay then I caught a whiff of something very serious going on.
