CNN actually nabbed higher ratings than FOX News

For a few brief quarter-hours, the nation's original all-news channel CNN matched and passed audience ratings of FOX NEWS, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
Coverage of Tuesday evening's South Carolina, Missouri and other Dem primary races gave CNN 1,829,000 viewers during the 9 PM hour on the east coast, squeaking past FOXNEWS's 1,630,000. Both nets pulled a 1.6 rating, NIELSEN reports.

I've become rather tired of FNC lately. They seem to have a half-dozen or so topics they harp on endlessly.
1.) Iraq/WMD
2.) The Leftist Primary
3.) Kobe Bryant
4.) Martha Stewart
5.) Scott Peterson
Whenever I tune in to FNC, I always see the same tired topics, covered ad infinitum and ad nauseum.
I guess they've never heard about "flogging a dead horse."

" Greta and O'Reilley are unwatchable, tabloid, Kobi/Laci/Jacko nonsense."
Beyond unwatchable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday night was a night of the rats. Makes sense they would flock to rat central.

Add nimrod Hannity to the unwatchable list.
He is nothing but a conservative Paul Begala!

You took the words right out of my mouth. They need to relegate Geraldo and Rita Cosby to the janitorial department, and return to the good news coverage they once had. And oh--put Tony Snow back on Fox News Sunday. This Wallace guy isn't up to snuff.

I tried to get decent election coverage, but FOX was not delivering. I tried REALLY hard to watch Greta's show, but I could not bear it. So I turned on CNN, and it had pretty good coverage of the results. I felt sick to my stomach, and my wife watched me in amazement, but I continued to turn in to CNN to see the results coming in. I'm afraid that if FOX doesn't do anything different, I probably will be watching further primary results (at least while they are competitive or meaningful) at CNN or possibly MSNBC (no major networks for me though).

Is it possible that a whole bunch of regular Fox viewers tuned into Dennis Miller on CNBC?..I mean..it's a "Colmes-free" hour..

He is nothing but a conservative Paul Begala! Sorry to disagree, but I believe that Begala is intellectually dishonest and Hannity will never be accused of being intellectual.

Drudge hates FOXNEWS so much for firing his ass, he's now making stuff up! Interesting theory. But, I seem to recall Drudge was among the first to shout the news about Fox News Channel's rise to the top of the ratings, and that was long after they fired him. So, although I'd like to think you're right, I'm not convinced.

We're watching FoxNews less and less now although we haven't switched to CNN. I really don't care about Kobe Bryant (in fact, I'd never heard about him until all the media frenzy started), Scott Peterson, and yada yada yada. I find myself watching the History Channel more and more often.

I concur. I do agree that it is torture to stay tuned to FOXNEWS 24/7. I am particularly aggravated about the repeating of a blurb that contains an error written by someone in a room downstairs. My solution is variety, even some non-TV time. I even switch sometimes when the yelling gets too loud on H&C!

You are welcome! PS Did I offend you? I truly did not mean to. I guess I bridle with even a whiff of a suggestion about what I should or should not watch. Just a streak of mulish stubborness. Can we be friends?

"The FOX 'heads seem more interested in getting each segment over with--"QUICKLY"--so they can 'tease' the next segment and go to commercial break."
That's exactly the problem with O'Reilly; he was too many "segments" and each one is only about five minutes, so there's no chance to really get into anything very deep, especially since Bill has to keep interrupting his "guests."

Sad to say, I occasionally watch FOX too...:( I used to have FOX NEWS on the majority of the day. It's tiresome to see them repeat the same thing OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I have found GREAT peace in tuning out! I think they need a wake up call from us to let them know they are driving scores of faithful viewers away! Let's EMAIL them NOW before it's too late!

That's mostly on Greta's show, which in my area is in the 7 - 8 p.m. slot. That's a bad place for it; they should move up Brit Hume (9 - 10 p.m.) to that spot, put the O'Reilly re-run in at 8 -9 p.m. (he's also in the 5- 6 p.m. slot), and bump Greta into the 9 - 10 p.m. slot. When Greta's show comes on is when I usually look for something else to do.

We're in the same time zone. I would much prefer to watch Brit's Special report at 7, I never watch Greta's show any more. Blech.

FOXNews, CNN, et al are not intended for a person to be watching 24/7, obviously. If one sees the same blurb, it's time to switch channels or do something else.

I myself hate fox lately. I have switched to Imus who I cursed out this morning because he talks out of his a-- and puts Bush down just like everyone else. And his ugly bald partner is a pervert who talks about these untalented women is music like they are beauty goddess. I have been watching the weather channel and the food channel more than the news.
