Why didn't the Texas Legislature Gerrymander her out of her district?Under the Voting Rights Act, as currently interpreted by the US Supreme Court, that would be illegal.
The legislature did mess with her district though. They put a fast growing hispanic area into her district, so she could eventually be challenged and beaten.
