This is temporary.

We've had saturation coverage of the Rat races and nothing from Bush. Nobody except Massachusetts and political junkies know who Kerry is - so these are generic numbers that will go down when people find out.

Bush has had a bad month, much self-inflicted with the illegal alien proposal, the busted budget and a lukewarm received SOTU. He will recover and get right again with the base.

His numbers could hit the stratosphere again if we get Osama's head on a pike in, say, May.

I wouldn't count on it. Look at Saddam. Two days after he crawled out of his hole, it was no longer front page news, and quickly faded away.

After watching Afghanistan and Iraq get hammered, and watching Saddam crawl out of a hole, basically harmless, American's for the most part are beyond the WOT. They still support the troops but they are more concerned with their jobs, epic government spending, the never ending invasion of millions of illegals into our country, the AWB, etc, etc. You know, domestic issues.
