Specify where has Bush violated the Bill of Rights. I am a gun owner, but just as there is no "separation of church and state" in the constitution, there is no right to fully automatic weapons. If you want one, you can still get one, legally. Where in the Bill of Rights are you entitled to a free education? As long as the government provides free education, they have a right to impose their standards. I agree on the Medicare drug bill, no argument there. The Patriot Act was a reaction to 9-11, but since I am not involved in crime or terrorism, it has yet to effect me. What would you do, cannot kill the terrorist, nobody wants them, we cannot interrogate them, unless they are held outside the US. Israel is darn near a police state and they cannot stop terrorist, imagine the difficulties in our open society. How would you feel about a Patriot Act if you lost family members to say a suicide bomber while at the mall? But, do you really think Kerry will be a better advocate for your point of view.

Specify where has Bush violated the Bill of Rights.

I listed specific violations in post 31 of the First, Fourth and Fifth amendments plus a promise to violate the second amendment when the AWB comes up for renewal.

When Ashcroft was touring the nation to sell the Patriot Act, he claimed that judicial review was always required. You were supposed to believe that normal search warrant rules (probable cause) still applied. NOT SO! Warrants can be issued by the FISA court, not a court of record and the standard in NOT probable cause but pretty much cause the government says it has something to do with terrorism. It has already been used in domestic criminal investigations that clearly had no relation to terrorism. The Patriot Act, signed by Bush is a Fourth Amendment violation. He also asked that it be renewed in his just given State of the Union address.

I know that the word 'conservative' has lost all its meaning now but Bush does not meet any past definition of the word unless you go back to Feudal times and label the advocates of maintaining Feudal rule as conservative.

Good posts.
I don't see where Bush supposedly violating our rights in the war on terrorism is going to be a substantial issue with most of the electorate in this election.

I don't know ANYBODY who feels like we are now living in a police state due to the Patriot act, and those few who may feel like their personal rights were violated are far out numbered by those who are glad Bush is protecting us from terrorists. Period.
