Conservatism may be dead. Disengagement from the political process will be the reaction of many conservatives. The neocons don't think we matter...perhaps we don't.

There may be nothing left for the conservative to do but sit back and watch the inevitable play out. The script has already been written. For most of 50 years I've watched the political and social culture devolve...more and more into an Orwellian nightmare. The path we have been on is clear, just as the path into our future is clear. We cannot avoid the consequences of social apathy and ignorance. We have lost our Republic and we lost it long before I was born. I find little consolation in that at least I won't be alive to see the it get as bad as it will get.
