Living where you live, you know more than me so I'll take your word for it. I just think we're giving up too much freedom in the name of 'peace and safety'

I agree we are in other ways --- I won't fly if it means having to take off my shoes and be strip-searched. I don't like the border check points they have inside the USA --- but I honestly cannot accuse the agents of being rude or ever going overboard, I just don't like the inconvenience of having to slow down, stop and state my citizenship inside the USA --- but those have been up for sometime now. I've only had my vehicle searched at the border itself and even then for kind of funny reasons --- like they found hay in the back of my truck once and I think they thought I had had pot ---- they asked me what the green stuff was, I told them hay and they looked at me funny and asked what I had been doing with hay, and I told them because I have a horse that likes to eat --- they still had to check it out.

Yes, it definitely makes a difference where you live. After a ranch family was murdered by illegals in West Texas a couple of weeks ago, my sister and her whole family are getting their gun permits and intend to carry at all times. As one of our presidents once said, "It's prudent." Of course, this scourge could be coming to your town next, courtesy of your politically correct local government or a factory or packing plant that wants to import cheap labor, so don't feel too safe.

I agree with that, but it is because our resources are being misdirected, even wasted. I am afraid that if we don't deal with the illegal alien problem, we will never be able to enjoy freedom OR security again. If, however, we took agressive and extraordinary means of addressing that problem, there would be little need for the ongoing measures we endure now in the name of security because we would have eliminated the source of 95% of the problem. All we're doing now is temprorarily relieving symptoms, but until we remove the cancer the body is still threatened.
