George Bush is the greatest president since Reagan, I think he won't miss your vote, nor those of all the far right political hermits posting here.

So many willing to demand ones way, not considering the consequence of a liberal directed society that would come. On the contrary, "the consequences of a liberal directed society" under GWB are exactly the concern.

Then let me be more precise. In my opinion, Bush is on the same level as Reagan. Bush and Reagan are the two greatest presidents of my lifetime (which goes back to 1954).

I think he's excellent. One of the problems is that the word "conservative" covers 2 types of folks: fiscal conservatives for whom the prime consideration is spending, and social conservatives, who are willing to spend if the spending implements or encourages ideas that are important to them.
One of the causes of dispute right now is that these two groups are bickering over who is the "real" conservative, with the former opposing Bush and the latter generally liking him.
I'm self employed and write my own checks to the IRS, and I really resent having to give almost a third of what I earn to the Federal Government. However, I'd have to give it anyway, because realistically speaking, we're never going to go to zero government spending. I'm much happier with the way Bush wants to spend it than with the way any Dems propose on spending it.

I am very much a one-issue voter. My issue is strict constructionism. I have voted for conservatives to achieve smaller government. Obviously GWB is not my man. The administration has made a calculation wherein they feel they can lose the votes of people like me while picking up more from the left. So be it.

You sweetie pie, had been a proven Bush supporter during the first election cycle.
I remember our many talks and fun evenings during that time and I even remember the hard work you did on the video for the Inaugural Ball.
I don't have a problem with people who genuinely feel some angst or whatever towards Bush for whatever reason they feel he has betrayed them.
I have a problem with some long time posters here, who I CLEARLY remember as not having supported BUSH at any time.
I cannot sit back and let them jump on this forum and slam him left and right, and derride his genuine supporters when they know damn well they were never in his corner to begin with.
The fringers are on my radar...and I am going to out them at every opportunity.
You aren't a fringer....

"I have voted for conservatives to achieve smaller government."
Which president has reduced the size of government? None of them. I'd say your efforts are failing. You can continue your strategy and promote an even greater expansion of government via the Democrat presidents that may be elected thereby. You'll also be contributing to a weaker and less secure America.
