I figured Arnold would be so busy trying to save the State from fiscal ruin that he wouldn't have time to bring up this divisive issue.

But I was wrong - I guess RINOnegger had more important things to worry about than keeping the State from bankruptcy.

Hello Pubbie:

That figures..., when we were told that McClintock was "unelectable" and Arnold was really a good guy that after all had the same platforms as Tom, however we "Tombots" resisted. Finally after being constantly berated by Arnoids I finally relented (under the avoiding Cruz clause of "How to Revise Conservative Principles"...).

Now I see what happens when principles are cut, shaved, and trimmed to the point of complete deletion.

I want to thank all those who decided Arnold was the "man". Thank you for your wisdom about "Davis-Lite". Finally, I definately want to thank you for convincing me to join a liberal cause in the name of "electability".

Sorry, but next time (and there will be one) I vote conservative...period. You can all berate me, slam me, and question my principles...but now I know where the slippery slope leads...liberalism.

DD

This looks like the companion thread to your article...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1068277/posts

SAN DIEGO — The U.S. Supreme Court will get involved in a two-decade long fight over whether Mexican trucks and busses can do business in the United States.

The court has agreed to hear the Bush administration's appeal of a 1994 NAFTA ruling that keeps Mexican trucks off American roads until an environmental study is completed.

"The major problems are diesel emissions, particularly in the border states and they can be very severe and cause asthma and many, many problems," said Joan Claybrook of the public interest group Public Citizen (search).

President Bush feels Mexican trucks can meet U.S. safety guidelines and thinks allowing door-to-door deliveries will cut down on shipping costs and ultimately benefit consumers.

But critics say Bush is using the trucking issue to forge better ties with Mexico and special interest groups while ignoring the American worker.

"The Bush administration has already sent out enough American jobs outside of this country," said Teamsters spokesman Bret Caldwell. "It's time we stood up for good-paying, high-wage productive jobs in this country and kept them here."

Pubbie, thank you for a show of integrity. It is too rare.

As for the rest of you, a vote for Arnold was a vote for Bustamante, on steroids.

He has appointed a numerical majority of leftist Democrats to State Boards. He is deregulating power pricing without deregulating supply. He hasn't touched those illegal power bonds. Workmans comp reform is stalled. He has already renegged on taxes. He hasn't done diddly about real spending cuts. He has instead cut a deal with the teachers' union. Arnold had the unmitigated gall to say that he wouldn't take money from special interests and then told us later that "special interests" meant prison guards and tribes. He took money from Wall Street investment houses holding power bonds, he illegally piled in his own cash into his campaign, he took money from real estate interests, and now he's raking in campaign cash at a rate that exceeds the most corrupt governor in California history and largely from the same interests as funded Davis. No special interests, indeed.

So now, it's this: driver's licenses for illegals, in direct opposition to the single principal issue upon which he was elected.

The rest of you on the above list were warned with arguments supported by facts. You chose to sell out your supposed principles to back a confirmed liar with a vicious campaign of fear, simply because the Cal-GOP said so, even though you were warned that Parsky and crew don't give a crap about Republican principles and hate conservatives. You are accountable for great damage to this conservative forum and the conservative cause in general. It's going to get worse. I'm not letting any of you off the hook for three long years unless you recant. I hope you've learned your lesson, but I doubt it.

How do all of you Republicans in California that voted for RINO Arnie instead of a real conservative, feel now with his knife in your back?

Didn't take long to betray you all, did it?

Get used to it...suckers. Its easier the second time, third time, forth time,....etc....

I have a big problem with issuing the same kind of license as for legal residents, but I believe that licensing, with the testing and insurance requirement, and issuing a different, easily distinguishable kind of license that expires annually, is a GOOD thing.

A friend in another forum came up with the perfect solution - already in place for years and perfectly legitimate. Why can't they just get International Driver's Licenses?

When you have a Republican who’s not a Conservative, it means… Well, let’s ask Mr. Natural.

I had a feeling Arnold made a deal with Democrats to get the legislature to repeal the illegal license bill. If a new bill gets through, we are going to have to go to the people and put a repeal of the new law on the ballot. This would kill it once and for all.

Glad I voted for McClintok. Now lets recall Schwarzenegger. I'll be fun to watch two political hacks go down in disgrace. Maybe someday these corrupt people that get involved in making careers as politicians will get it.

RECALL!

I'm not saying Arnie is righteous, because I don't know the condition of his soul, but the principle remains:

Proverbs 25:26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked [or, in this case, before those who press unlawful ideas] is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.
