If this story is accurate, it's a strategic error on the part of the White House.

He said in the SOTU he would limit spending. If he pulls this, how the heck is that limiting spending???

I love Bush, but this is one program I have to join the bashers on.

The NEA must go. Period. There should be no place for "state art" in America. Shades of Stalinoid paintings of Happy Factory workers. Besides, the arts crowd hates his guts and wants to send him back to Texas.

Tom DeLay! Kill this monstrosity. Now!

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Therefore, anyone who votes against President Bush this fall has on their hands the blood of all those Americans who die thereafter- because they could have voted for the one man in the race who could win and kill the terrorists, but did not as a result of their own stupidity.

You go too far, sir. If the Drudge blurb is true and if Bush increases the NEA's funding, then he should and will answer for it. There is NO excuse for spending and wasting federal money like this. To claim that posters here "have blood on their hands" because they oppose such a profligate waste of taxpayer dollars is a despicable thing to say.

I'm going to wait and see if the story is true before I allow it to raise my blood pressure.

IF true, this is another bad move - but in my world, the War on Terror is the most important issue, and I don't want that in the hands of any Democrat. Ever. And there's only one way to prevent that from happening.

The road to reelection is not paved with the pissed-off bodies of the core conservative constituency. I wish someone would tell the White House that....

At this rate, so many of us are gonna get pissed off that Bush will have to hang up any realistic possibility of reelection.

And if it happens, Bush will have no one to blame but himself.

Well, when I clicked on this thread, I knew the malcontents would be out in force, and here you are, the usual suspects.

C'mon, this is all Strategery!

Bush is taking the Democrats' issues away! Daschle's in a Box!

You're misunderestimating Dubya!

SCOTUS will fix it!

It's just a PROPOSAL, so the President isn't proposing anything. Write your Congressmen!

Who do you want? Dean or Kerry?

Are you going to vote for Hillary?

I don't believe any of you ever voted for President Bush in the first place!

Whew! Feels good to finally get with the program.

Feel free to steal my tagline.

Good grief man...I am just stunned that he is actually doing this. Beyond despicable.

I generally will stand by him on anything, even the friggin' immigration plan.

But this. This is over the line. This is supporting not only immorality, not only blasphemy, not only just plain things that are not "real" art...this is supporting the idea that the govt. even should be involved in showing off poop with a statue of Christ in it.

And that is absolutely disturbing.

This does not mesh with his stance on abortion and gay marriage.

What the HELL is he doing?
