There is no doubt in my mind that there never was a Jewish Temple on the site that everyone is fighting over.

Archaeologists have found portions of the walls of the Second Temple and other artifacts conforming to the descriptions in the Talmud. The site is authentic.

The entirety of "Jewish" Jerusalem was destroyed down to the bedrock in 70AD. The New Testament, Josephus and many pilgrims testify that the city was completely destroyed. Jesus prophesied that no stone would be left on another and history testifies to the veracity of the prophecy. There are 20,000 plus stones that comprise the Haram (Fort Antonia). Not a single historical source mentions this structure when describing the destruction of the Temple. How was this overlooked? It is because it still stood to house a Roman legion - an occupying force of 5000 troops and up to 5000 support personnel. This force stayed in the area until the fourth century. Numerous historical sources refer to the Roman fortress. No historical accounts refer to it as the wall of the Jewish temple. Many sources also refer to the flowing water within the Temple. These are historical and contemporary accounts of Jewish worship in the Temple. The only source of flowing fresh water, a necessary component to Temple worship and the sacrificial nature of it, is the Gihon spring - south of the Haram - and the actual sight of Solomon's and Herod's Temples.
