But but but America has guns... (although the article mentions that their import to the US has been banned since 1986). Israel uses them! The UK police don't even have them (but they do have the semi-automatic variety).
Yes this article has hystronics that point the finger of blame here and there but it is more of a scare piece.

FWIW, I was trying to see what the shipping weight of 1000 rounds of 9mm would weigh... My Internet connection is too flakey. But I'm sure that it's more than 50 pounds... Heck, with 124 gr bullets, just the bullets themselves would weigh about 31 pounds. And that's without the cases, primers and powder. A thousand rounds of my preferred 115-grain Lapua 9mm ball ammo weighs in at 28 pounds, plus the weight of the carton or ammo can it's shipped in.

The Glock 18 is banned in America from import, manufacture, possession or anything else. You simply cannot obtain one legally here. I suspect that you're incorrect there. While it is an NFA weapon and banned from import, there probably were some who made it in before the assault weapons ban, and which were/are legally transferable to individuals with Class III FFLs.
Or am I mistaken?

God help us all. You'll be happy to know, no doubt, that S&W displayed a short-barrelled concealment version on their new Model 500 .500 S&W Magnum revolver at the last SHOT show. But it's still *just* a 5-shooter....

Soooo, you think it's absolutely okey dokey that a woman with not one shred of discernable talent and who has never added a single iota of value to the human endeavor, except for making really bad home videos, should inherit $300,000,000? If the owner of the 300 mil willed it to her, then hell yes, the will should be carried out. If you think it's best that when individuals no longer have any use for their money it should accrue back to the state, then you're a statist and have no business here... wait.
Never mind. This is precisely the web forum for you.

Actually, it would empty its' magazine in less than 1.04 seconds; this has got to be the ultimate accessory for the "spray 'n' pray" crowd! Actually, I can tap off four-shot bursts with pretty consistant results; very acceptable and controllable out to around 25 meters, though not my first choice for such uses. But there's nothing about the gun that requires a complete magazine dump, and the 33-round magazine is a much more appropriate feed device for such sport.
Actually, the *ultinate accessory for the spray and pray* crowd is probably a M1932 Mauser Broomhandle in 7,63mm, also selective fire. The last time I was in Beirut I had one offered to me for my use, just as familiar with the semiauto C96 Mauser *broomhandle* pistol I carry here in Memphis, but with 10,20 and 50-round magazines that went with it. They're handy if a carload of attackers pulls up alongside and haven't gotten their usual Kalishnikovs clear out of their vehicle yet.

Personally I think that the most terrifying guns are those pointed at you and those being handled by an idiot who doesn't know proper gun safety.

I know some honestly defenseless women who would benefit from the ownership, and training in use thereof, of said supposedly terrifying gun.

Okay, let me clarify, I have not heard any HANDGUN as loud as the .357 sig! I myself have fired several dozen live 105mm APFSDS rounds from the original M1 Abrahms tank I trained on for my transition from infantry to armor branch back in the early 1990's. I felt like I'd been struck in the side of the head with a baseball bat and
it was the second best sensation I've ever felt in my life.ON THE WAAAAY
Target, cease fire.

I thought Bill Clinton's appendage was the most terrifying gun in the world. As with any weapon, the operator has to know what he's doing with it. According to press accounts, Mr. Clinton is more from the *spray and pray* school of thought, unable to concentrate on a single target.
Ever notice how much his daughter resembles Webb Hubble?

You're *sort of* mistaken. It's unlikely that there are any examples in this country that arrived before the McClure-Volkmer *Firearm Owners Protection Act* the NRA-backed legislation that contained a ban on the possession and transfer of new machineguns by civilians, signed into law by President Reagan on May 19, 1986.
But there ARE exceptions; for those who make MG sales and as *dealer demonstrators* to police, for MG manufacturers, and for certain theatrical and stage weapons portrayals- Hollywood's heroes have to have their leadspreaders.
And it's also reasonably simple to convert the Glock series to full-auto with some internal modification, and quite legal, in some other nations freer than the USA.

No, of course not. She should be required to show that she can dribble a basketball, first. Then she'd clearly be worth $300 mill.

The odds of one leaving the U.S. is very high. You mean, very low.
Yes, you are correct. I meant very, very low. I would believe that it probably came from somewhere in Europe before I would consider that it came from the U.S.
