I am well aware of what birthday means. What I am asking has to do with the age of the individual and whether it should be starting at 0 when you are born.....

What people are *trying* to explain to you is that including gestation in one's age would make it difficult to state with any precision. Since you don't know your conception date, you could only say, "I'm around 30" instead of "I turned 30 the 14th of last month." In other words, it's not feasible.
