Ultimetely, Pres Bush can oppose all he want, but the states does have great latitude in forming some reasonable laws in respect to immigration as long as it within the bounds of the constitution.

Fair enough.

When we in California wanted to enact Proposition #187, a very reasonable state law which would have protected California taxpayers from having to pay for public services and benefits to Illegal Aliens, President Bush, while a gubernatorial candidate, opposed us.

He can oppose all he want to, but in the end even he as president will have to respect those individual states because of the constitution.
