What would be the strategical impetus for these guys to climb the poles in your neighborhood? Are there high value targets nearby? Rather then calling the police, you may want to call the cable and/or power company to ask whether they have employees and/or independant contractors working in the area.

They didn't have any company logos on anything. I am alone here so I wanted to get back in the house and lock the doors. Also I had to get the dogs in before they ate the one guy standing in my yard. All the cable guys are aware that the poles are accessible from the alley. Further, to walk into a large property unannounced is an act of someone not familar with our way of doing things. Any seasoned installer would know there is the possiblity of being attacked by a large dog if you enter a property through a gate. I am reminded of the posts about cutting off communications when they have their big attack on us.
