Yes, I know it is. Ricin is very deadly. That's why I thought I'd pass on what CNN dummy said. :)

Thanks for your good comments. Do you think the rabies thing could be anything. Very long incubation period. Lots of people could be infected before we knew. Just a shot in the dark I know, but it might be possible.

They forgot to tell us it's not terrorist related. :-)

Thank you for all of the above, and I agree. I pray for our President, Vice President, Leaders and our Country daily, as well as for all of us. :) I believe it's a needful thing.
Thanks to FReepers in general, and this thread, in particular, I am more prepared than I've ever been. Got to admit, though, I've been more focused on things that go 'boom' lately, than I have on bio's, which is remarkable, considering my background. Medical.

Do you think, based on that above post, they are doing something to our dogs? Or, might it refer to rabies?
To: WestCoastGal
LOL. Yes, they did fail to do that, yet. Give em time. :)

Ricin suspected in letter sent to U.S. Senate
Associated Press
Washington A white powder, which preliminary tests indicated could be the deadly substance ricin, was discovered Monday in the office of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., in the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
A government official said further tests were being conducted at Fort Detrick in Maryland, with more definitive results expected by Tuesday.
The powder was found in an envelope in Mr. Frist's office suite on the fourth floor of the Dirksen building, one of three structures occupied by senators and their staffs, said a congressional source speaking on condition of anonymity.
Sergeant Contricia Ford, spokeswoman for the Capitol Police, said authorities were conducting more extensive tests. The Homeland Security Department is monitoring the situation, spokesman Brian Roehrkasse said.
Ricin, derived from the castor bean plant, can kill within days. Twice as deadly as cobra venom, ricin is relatively easily made. It may be inhaled, ingested or injected.
Police found traces of ricin in a north London apartment last January and arrested seven men of North African origin in connection with the virulent toxin that has been linked to al-Qaeda terrorists and Iraq.
A package containing ricin was also found at a post facility serving Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in South Carolina in October.
An FBI official said the bureau was awaiting the result of tests at the Fort Detrick laboratory before deciding whether to get more fully involved in the case.
Mail to congressional offices has been irradiated since deadly anthrax was found in letters sent to the offices of Sens. Tom Daschle, D-S.D., and Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., in 2001. No one was arrested in those incidents.

I am wondering if they found a way (Maybe with Help) to make the ultimate air bourne virus nightmare and are releasing it. And I wonder what it would smell like. But this is just total speculation of course. Fits that post from Jills site rather well.

Something is up with all those strange odors too. Folks don't just get sick and fall out in stores. It's a mess when that happens. Some kind of airborne thing, sounds like, in those cases.
Too tired to think. See you guys in the morning. :)

I do have some of those things on hand. I am little more self sufficiant than many. I also have extra Gas and a generator and wood stove to keep warm. Assuming I can stay home if anything happens.

That link I just posted for chem/bio gives a great description of these agents including odors if they have them and a really great quote at the end of the page.
