More election year hype from the Republicrats. I have news for all who hope that the Rep controlled govt is the answer to all your worries: My guy (Harry Browne) has a better chance of being elected than the Republicans doing anything substantial to roll back govt while in office.

I didn't know it had any "cons". The usual compaints about it come from the uneducated (and most especially from those unwilling to be educated) about the topic.

Pros:

• Puts the burden of the federal government on every receipt instead of hiding it inside layers of VAT-like hidden taxes
• Lets individuals have first claim on their money and what they want to do with it
• Does not discriminate on age, race, gender, income, religion, or an other political or social grouping
• It is cost-of-living agnostic -- income tax brackets disproportionately tax those in higher cost-of-living areas
• The government no longer has the right or need to compel individuals to provide their financial details
• ...
