JESSE JACKSON "REPUDIATED" ON KING DAY
Rev. Peterson Leads Final Rally, Shifts Focus to NAACP & Black Caucus
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!!! - January 21, 2004
Los Angeles - Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny, led his organization's 5th and final "National Day of Repudiation of Jesse Jackson" on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday this past Monday in front of Rainbow/PUSH L.A. The event has been held every year in honor of the slain civil rights leader, to "show the contrast between Dr. King's dream and Jesse Jackson's nightmare."
Highlighting BOND's accomplishments and "capturing the dream" were the themes of this year's event. Candice Jackson of Judicial Watch kicked off with some bad news for Jesse Jackson. She announced, "Oral arguments in Jesse Lee Peterson's assault case against Jesse Jackson, et al. are set to begin on February 26, at 9 a.m. PST." Rev. Peterson told the cheering crowd, "I promise you, I'm not going to cut any back room deals in my case against Jesse Jackson."
Other speakers blasted Jackson for his legacy of immorality and for corrupting Dr. King's dream. Ron Jackson, Columnist/Activist from Chicago, IL; Mychal Massie, Nationally Syndicated Columnist, Member of Project 21; Geoff Metcalf, Former Green Beret/Radio Talk Show Host; Jane Chastain, WorldNetDaily.com Columnist/Radio Talk Show Host: USA Radio Network, all spoke out boldly against Jackson and in support of BOND and Dr. King's message.
Rev. Peterson said, "We had powerful speakers and a very good turnout. Jackson has been exposed." He added, "This will be our last repudiation event. I believe it's time for others to carry the banner on this. We've set our sights on others who are more relevant and doing serious damage to black families: the NAACP and the Congressional Black Cacus."
